TCC COLLECTIVE

The Tahrir Cultural Center TCC Collective Visual Art Exhibition on March the 12th 2019  in the Margo Veillon Future and Legacy Galleries is considered to be  the inaugural event of the center that has been established by the American University in Cairo in cooperation with the Naguib Sawires Foundation.

It included a group exhibition of 35 Egyptian artists. The exhibition presented a wide scope of art mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, object, ceramics and photography. The artists come from different generations, different art schools, representing the last 25 years in contemporary visual art scene in Egypt. The show was curated by artist and TCC curator Mahmoud Hamdi.

My participation came in the form of a 24 piece – 30cm x 30cm each – ink line drawing installation based on the theme of the FULL FATHOM FIVE exhibition dealing with an an intersection of the physical and the metaphysical borrowing from the vast vocabulary of scientific illustration and christian iconography.
