Full Fathom Five is my first solo conceptual drawing exhibition at Gallery SOMA for contemporary art in the summer of 2018.
It is a wide belief that death is a form of metamorphosis. The analogy is open to theological and philosophical discourse but there are instances when one clearly observes this process in action in the grand scheme of things.
This is a metaphorical account of the transformation process in four stages: The battle for survival, dementia, death/transformation and beyond. The narrative morphs both visually and contextually according to the nature of the stage from the physical to the metaphysical
The images and accompanying text move in parallel narratives briefly crossing paths.
